The Language of Food
Ang Wika ng Pagkain
1. When uncertain as to what gift would be appropriate, give food.
2. When you like someone and wish to know him/her better, invite the person to share a meal with.
3. Never ever reject or send back food gifts.
4. Never eat without offering what you’re eating to the people present.
5. After someone helps you, offer food or at least a soda. Simply saying “Thank you” is not enough.
6. For a woman you are courting, give something sweet and valuable, such as chocolates. Just any item of food will not do. Never ever say you didn’t give her chocolates because you know she’s watching her weight.
7. When welcoming home friends and relatives, prepare a table laden with their favorite dishes for their arrival.
8. If you are invited to eat when there is no particular occasion, the invitation likely implies a wish for some form of alliance or an extension of goodwill.
