Shing-a-ling
Shingaling is a deep-fried flour snack that has the shape of fat string beans. People unfamiliar with it tend to mistake it for deep-fried chicken intestines.
This crunchy Filipino snack reportedly originated from the area of Calamba, Laguna. The name of the Perolina family has long been attached to it, and they are likely the creators of this snack.
To make your own shingaling, dry out pancit miki noodles overnight, then deep-fry in oil.
