Recipe: Chicken & Pork Adobo
Ingredients
2 pounds pork, cut into pieces 2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches thick
2 pounds chicken (fryer) cut-up
2 medium-size garlic, mashed
2 teaspoons paprika
1/2 cup soy sauce
6 whole allspice
ginger, thumb-size, peeled, mashed and shredded
1 teaspoon MSG
1/4 cup vinegar
3 bay leaves
salt and pepper to taste
Place pork and chicken in large saucepan.
Add all spices and liquids to pork.
Add enough water to barely cover meat.
Cover and simmer over medium flame until most of sauce has evaporated, except for about 1/2 cup.
Stir frequently until sauce thickens to about 1/4 cup.
Remove from pan and serve with rice.
You may use one meat instead of two. If only chicken is used, add 1/4 cup of cooking oil.
