Lokot-Lokot

Also known as Zamboanga rolls… Zambo Rolls… Locot-Locot… Lukot-Lukot… Jaa.
The Muslim communities on the Zamboanga peninsula are known for various delicacies. One of them is the Lokot-Lokot or sometimes called “Jaa” by the locals.
Lokot-lokot is a crunchy, golden brown delicacy produced and served during special occasions, especially the “Hariraya” or the feast of the Eid-il-Fitr, which celebrates the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
What are the ingredients that go into making these treats? Rice flour, sugar and water!
I haven’t tried these. (sad face)
