Chami
Pansit Chami is a sweet and spicy noodle dish made from fresh egg noodles called miki. It is a native delicacy of Lucena, the capital city of Quezon province. The area holds a Chami Festival every year coinciding with the Santacruzan celebration in the month of May.
The name chami is thought to derive from the Chinese words chaocai (stir-fry) and mi (noodles).
Chami is usually served family-style in big gatherings and can be eaten on its own or paired with other Filipino dishes like fried chicken or soup. It’s a beloved dish not only in Lucena but across the Philippines, known for its unique blend of savory and sweet flavors.
