Carmen’s Best

On the flight out of the country after his visit the Philippines, Pope Francis reportedly indulged in a pint of Carmen’s Best ice cream. Whether part of apocrypha or not, the story is a testament to the high esteem that Carmen’s Best enjoys in the country.

Among their local flavors with a suggested retail price of 370 pesos per pint: Coconut, Ube, Cheese, and Macapuno.

This is how they describe their ube flavor: “No amount of purple prose can do justice to this Philippine classic. We only use the finest ube jam from Baguio.”

And for some oddball reason, the company has a chocolate ice-cream flavor called “He’s not worth it…”
