The liempo (pork) was marinated in vinegar, garlic, salt and pepper.
Pakpako is the Ilocano name for a type of seaweed. Pakô in Tagalog refers to edible ferns.
Aside from fresh ferns, the pakô salad also includes onions and slices of salted eggs.
